SEXUAL VIOLENCE PERCEPTION AND LEGISLATION
Our study examines how people in different countries interpret various sexual situations: whether they perceive them as clearly consensual, ambiguous, or indicative of rape. We are interested in how similar or different these perceptions are across countries, and how they relate to each country’s social and legal context. The aim of the study is to better understand which factors shape rape perception and recognition. Specifically, we examine the role of legislative context, gender inequality, socio-legal factors related to women’s bodily autonomy, and individual attitudes, such as sexist beliefs.
