What happens when sex is consensual but still harmful? While sexual assault is widely studied, less is known about troubling sexual experiences that don’t fit legal definitions of assault yet disproportionately impact women. This project explores these grey zones—often called “bad sex”—through an interdisciplinary lens.

This project was awarded through the European Research Council (ERC) Starting Grant scheme and is funded by UK Research & Innovation. It runs from 2023 to 2028.
